Photo Album: Major Structural Repair in Chesapeake City MD
When this customer reached out to us, he was the potential buyer of this property and was currently in the inspection period. He informed the basement was previously finished and had 2 block foundation walls bowing inward and also one horizontal crack that was extremely concerning to him as well.
We sent our certified inspector, Keith Miller, out to asses the basement of this property, once in the basement it was easy to see that this property was in need of some major structural repair. The bowing walls were apparent and there were numerous horizontal and stair like cracks throughout the block foundation.
Our solution to this structural issue was to install our CarbonArmor straps with ArmorLock Kit, the CarbonAmor strap is fused to the ArmorLock which are anchored to a steel bracket and then lag-screwed in to the rim joist. This system will secure the wall from any further inward movement. We also installed 10 PowerBraces which can be tightened over a period of time, potentially reversing the failing wall.
