A few times a year, with torrential rainfall, this customers crawlspace would take on some water, since it wasn't happening every rainfall, the customer didn't consider it a big deal, until he started to notice some changes in the crawlspace.
Due to the moisture in the crawlspace, the insulation would become damp and heavy and it began to fall. In the winter, with no insulation under your floors, you bet you were going to be dealing with cold feet and higher energy bills. Now fast forward to summer, you have moisture and humidity in crawlspace and that started to cause mold.
Basement Systems USA was given a phone call to come out and provide a free evaluation and estimate. We decided the best way to handle this crawlspace was to first remove and haul away all damaged insulation and do a Mold X2 treatment to treat the visible mold spores. We then would install drainage matting that goes under our CleanSpace Vapor barrier we installed as well. We then moved on to install our SuperSump Plus, Iceguard and 2 crawlspace vent covers. It was also recommended to the customer to install our Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the humidity low in the crawlspace as well well our SilverGlo insulation.

This was an opening in the crawlspace that was not being fully covered allowing drafts water and critters to have access to the crawlspace
Vent Covers
Here we installed a vent cover in the crawlspace, this cover blocks all those drafts, critters and water that was previously getting in. Also pictured is our Iceguard which will allow water to escape if and when the discharge line freezes
