Original Basement Window
Here was the original basement window, as you can see, this window is not large enough to get out of and is so small, that it barely allows any natural light to shine through.

A view from the inside, shows not only will this small window not allow much lighting, but if there is an emergency and you need to escape through the basement, not only do you need something to step onto to reach it, but that is a very narrow opening to try to go through. This does not make for a quick and easy escape route.
Egress Installation
Here the slider egress has been installed. This egress is clearly large enough and convenient to escape out of incase of an emergency.
