Media PA Crawlspace Encapsulation

If you know you have a wet, cold crawl space, don't sit around and wait for the issue to go away on its own, because it won't. Just because your crawlspace is out of your sight, does not mean that this issue is not there or will not start to bleed into your living space.

A drafty crawl space will lower floor temperatures above, causing you to use more heat to warm your house in the winter months, which means a spike in your electric bill. A wet crawl space left unattended, Molds dream! Mold will start to spread and grow on the foundation walls and insulation, not only causing insulation to fall down( floors above are now subject to those cold drafts!) but there will also be a strong musty odor now coming from your crawl space and going in to your home.

This was a fairly large crawl space that was in need of waterproofing. The customer noted he would see indications of water intrusion, after the area was saturated with rain. Being on top of the issue, mold had not had a chance to start growing so we were able to get in here and waterproof without remediation. 

To encapsulate this crawl space, we used our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This barrier traps any moisture leaking into the foundation wall and directs it to the drainage system. The drainage system we installed here, is our DryTrak. Typically you will see us using Wateguard as our drainage system, Drytrak is just as reliable and works in the same exact way, but it is used in cases like this, where the slab is not able to be cut. Installing the Drytrak around the problematic walls of the crawl space, will create a channel for the water to safely flow through and be dumped into our TripleSafe Sump pump. Once in the TripleSafe the water will then discharge out and away from the foundation.
