We received a call from this home owner with concerns of water entering behind their interior stairwell, whenever it would rain. The interior stairwell had open access to the dirt crawlspace behind it and it was in no way protected from any water intrusion. We came out to this property and first removed the old stairwell to gain access to the crawlspace. Once the stairwell was removed we then installed Waterguard along the side wall of the crawlspace and continued the install down that same wall and into the basement. After the waterguard was installed we put up our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and then installed a SuperSump Pump. After the waterproofing of this basement and crawlspace were taken care of, we then installed a new set up interior stairs.
Original Stairwell
Here is a view of the original stairwell, what can not be seen, is there is an open crawlspace behind this stairwell.
Crawlspace
Once the stairwell was removed, we were able to gain access to the crawlspace and start waterproofing.
Waterproofing
Waterguard has been installed and Cleanspace Vapor Barrier is up. Now that the area has been waterproofed, we are now ready for the stairwell install.
Final Touch
Basement and Crawlspace have been waterproofed and here you can see we completed this project with an installation of a brand new stairwell.
