Egress Photo Album: West Chester PA Egress Installation
This West Chester homeowner was in the market for an egress window in his unfinished basement. The homeowner had a few standard size windows, but wanted to add a larger window, to brighten up the area.
Since the homeowner did not want to make any adjustment to sizes with his current windows, this called for us to have to cut through the poured foundation to create a new frame. Excavation completed, foundation cut through, new frame in place, we then get to install the 48x48 Large Slider Egress window along with the Rockwell and Rockwell cover. Once the Rockwell is secured and in place, we then return the soil we dug out and place it tightly and neatly around the rockwell.
For added protection against water, we installed a WellDuct window well drainage system that will tie directly into the current perimeter drain. Now if water gets into the window well, it will safely drain via the wellduct and get pumped out and away from the home.
Original Basement Window
This is one of the original basement windows which does not allow much light in, not only due to the tree, but due to its smaller size.
Egress Placement
This is the location the homeowner decided to get the Egress installed.
Egress Installation
Egress is in place and ready to be used for its many capabilities like a safe exit in case of an emergency or a source for large amount of natural light to enter the basement.
Big Picture
From the outside, this window might not look like it has much to offer, but from the interior, you can clearly see this is large enough to quickly and safely exit the basement if there ever were an emergency. You can see the amount of light that reflects from the Rockwell and into the basement
Rockwell
The Rockwell comes equipped with built in stairs to assist you on your quick exit.
