Foundation Repair Photo Album: Structural Repair and Waterproofing in BelAir MD
This customer had a fully finished basement, but started to notice that when it would rain, water would seep through the drywall. After tearing down the drywall and investigating a little more, it was noticed that there were cracks along the block foundation, and when it would rain, water would seep in through the cracks.
For this job, we first had to take care of the foundation wall, we installed our Carbon Armor Wall Stabilization System which permanently stabilizes the foundation wall. The CarbonArmor uses fiber reinforced polymers which are 10 times stronger than steel, but flexible enough to form tightly against the basement wall. The ArmorLock brackets secure the CarbonArmor straps to the floor joist making the CarbonArmor solution fast and perfect for quickly stabilizing bowing and leaning walls.
The second part to this project was the waterproofing. We installed a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, Waterguard a SuperSump Pump with a Battery Back Up Pumping System(Ultra Sump). The SuperSump is equipped with a 1/3HP Zoeller cast iron pump that pumps 2,650gallons per hour, a WaterWatch Alarm System that sounds off when water rises above the point of where the pump should turn on, a SuperLiner with 96 holes that allow water to flow in directly from below the floor and an AirTight Lid which keeps the moisture from evaporatiing into the basement and keeps out bugs, odor and radon gas. We also installed a Lawnscape underground pipe and Iceguard.
