A customer had a nasty problem with their wet and moldy basement. We fixed the problem with our successful Spot Mold Treatment, removing all mold from the space. Now, the customer has a dry, clean space with no worries of damp or moldy odors.

Basement Finishing in Bel Air, MD

When a homeowner needed a higher quality basement, we were there to help. After eliminating the mold in the basement, we installed our reliable Everlast basement windows and Rockwell window well to keep moisture and soil out. We installed our Wellduct and ThermalDry wall systems to prevent water damage by catching and sending any water to the drainage system. The SaniDry dehumidifier will also control the humidity and air quality in the basement so that there is no risk of moisture, mold or odors. The homeowner is now happy with a basement that can be used.

Finished Basement with Crawlspaces in Bel Air, Maryland

Before we finished this basement we had to deal with some problems first.  This basement had several crawlspaces that that had moisture and no insulation.  We installed CleanSpace barrier on the floor of the crawlspace to prevent vapor transmission.  We also insulated the walls and rim-joist of the crawlspaces but not with fiberglass insulation because that attracts mold and becomes ineffective over time as it absorbs moisture.  Instead we used Silverglow foam board.  We also installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier to keep the humidity at an acceptable low level.

Then we used our TBF Everlast wall panel system to finish the basement and it came out great.  Not only does it look good, it comes with a 50-year guarantee against water damage and mold growth.  We also fixed the stairs and installed Thermal flooring that makes the basement floor look good and creates a warmer floor surface. The basement looked great and is now ready to use.

Egress Window Instillation in Bel Air, MD

A homeowner in Bel Air, Maryland, contacted Basement Systems USA to add an egress window to her basement bedroom. Her finished basement lacked natural light and, more importantly, a second exit point for emergencies. Local building codes mandate that basement bedrooms must have an egress window to ensure safety and compliance. The basement also had a block foundation, requiring a customized solution to accommodate the installation.

Upon assessment, our team recommended installing a 36x36, In-Swing egress window. This size allowed for optimal light while meeting egress requirements. The next step involved cutting into the foundation and sealing the new window opening. To complete the installation, we added a RockWell egress window well, which combines durability with an attractive stone-like finish. This well also includes built-in steps to facilitate a safe and easy exit from the basement in case of emergency.

To prevent water accumulation in the well, we installed a well duct drain that connects to the existing basement waterproofing system. This well duct is essential for redirecting rainwater and preventing leaks, ensuring the basement remains dry. With the new egress window and well duct system in place, the basement bedroom now complies with local safety codes, benefits from increased natural light, and has an added layer of protection against water infiltration. The homeowner was beyond trilled with the final product.

To enhance the system’s year-round effectiveness, we included an IceGuard, which prevents frozen discharge lines, ensuring the pumps can operate smoothly even during cold spells. We also installed a LawnScape outlet, directing water safely away from the property and protecting the surrounding landscape. To further protect the basement environment, we added a CleanSpace Wall System with the Wallie 36, which acts as a barrier against moisture and vapor while brightening up the space.

This combination of solutions created a fortified, dry, and secure basement environment. With these systems in place, the homeowner can confidently enjoy a basement that remains dry, no matter how fierce the weather gets outside.

Basement Waterproofing and Wall Stabilization in Aberdeen, MD

When a homeowner in Aberdeen, MD, contacted Basement Systems USA, they were dealing with persistent water issues in their basement that only appeared during heavy rainfall. Water would seep in through the basement floor, impacting the bathroom and laundry areas, yet there were no pipe leaks to explain the problem.
