Basement Waterproofing & Crawl Space Repair in Bel Air

Flooding, water seepage or even high humidity can quickly result in mold growth and water damage in your basement or crawl space. We prevent this from happening by installing an interior drainage system in the basement that is connected to a high volume sump pump. Any water that makes it to the basement is collected and pumped out of the home without you even noticing.

Just like the basement, in the crawl space we similarly place a sump pump system and dehumidifier to prevent water issues. The entire area is encapsulated with vapor barrier to prevent mold growth. Our crawl space system comes with a 25-year warranty.

We Provide:
  • Basement Waterproofing
  • Crawl Space Encapsulation
  • Exclusive, Patented Products
  • Humidity Control
  • Structural Repair
  • Basement Egress Windows
You Receive:
  • Permanently Dry Basement
  • Clean Protected Crawlspace

If the walls of the basement or bowing inwards we install wall anchors or braces to straighten the walls. If the floor above the crawl space is sagging we install SmartJack support jacks to raise the floor back to a level position. Our Bel Air waterproofing systems come with lifetime warranties.

Basement Finishing & Remodeling in Bel Air, MD

Waterproofing your basement prevents outside water from coming in but what if a pipe bursts or the water heater leaks inside the home. Our Products Include :
  • Waterproof, washable, insulated walls
  • Mold-Resistant, No-Sag suspended ceiling
  • Modular carpet, tile & faux wood flooring
  • Basement egress windows

Basement Waterproofing in Bel Air, MD

We recently assisted a homeowner in Bel Air, MD overcome challenges with their unfinished basement. They were dealing with a common issue: the space was consistently damp, emitting an unpleasant odor, and there was a looming threat of potential mold growth. Understandably concerned, the homeowner reached out to us seeking a solution that would not only address the moisture problem but also prevent it from recurring. Upon contacting our customer care team, an appointment was promptly scheduled for a home inspection. One of our experienced System Design Specialists visited the home to evaluate the situation firsthand. After a thorough inspection, it became clear that the best course of action would be to install our WaterGuard interior drainage system along with the reliable SuperSump sump pump. WaterGuard is designed to sit along the basement perimeter, capturing water that seeps through walls and guiding it efficiently to the SuperSump system. The SuperSump, known for its durability and high capacity, then pumps the collected water safely away from the home – ensuring the basement stays dry and healthy year-round. Our skilled production team got to work, carefully retrofitting these state-of-the-art solutions into the homeowner’s basement with minimal hassle and disruption.

Egress Window Instillation in Bel Air, MD

A homeowner in Bel Air, Maryland, contacted Basement Systems USA to add an egress window to her basement bedroom. Her finished basement lacked natural light and, more importantly, a second exit point for emergencies. Local building codes mandate that basement bedrooms must have an egress window to ensure safety and compliance. The basement also had a block foundation, requiring a customized solution to accommodate the installation.

Upon assessment, our team recommended installing a 36x36, In-Swing egress window. This size allowed for optimal light while meeting egress requirements. The next step involved cutting into the foundation and sealing the new window opening. To complete the installation, we added a RockWell egress window well, which combines durability with an attractive stone-like finish. This well also includes built-in steps to facilitate a safe and easy exit from the basement in case of emergency.

To prevent water accumulation in the well, we installed a well duct drain that connects to the existing basement waterproofing system. This well duct is essential for redirecting rainwater and preventing leaks, ensuring the basement remains dry. With the new egress window and well duct system in place, the basement bedroom now complies with local safety codes, benefits from increased natural light, and has an added layer of protection against water infiltration. The homeowner was beyond trilled with the final product.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Bel Air, MD

Recently in Bel Air, MD, we encountered a homeowner facing a common, yet troublesome situation with their crawl space. It needed a thorough cleanup and something had to be done to combat the musty smell infiltrating the space above it, particularly during the warmer months. They reached out to us, hoping to not only clear out their crawl space but to also explore options for sealing and perhaps even dehumidification, to nip the ongoing issue in the bud. After contacting our Customer Care team, a home inspection was promptly scheduled. Our System Design Specialist conducted a comprehensive review and pinpointed the heart of the issue. The diagnosis? A clear need for sealing off the crawl space to prevent moisture build-up, coupled with an efficient way to regulate humidity levels to keep the space and the rest of the home healthy and smell-free. Garage Waterproofing in Bel Air, MD

Recently in Bel Air, MD, a homeowner noticed an unwelcome sight in their garage: water was seeping in through small cracks around their foundation and where a water pipe entered the garage. Like any homeowner, they were concerned about the potential damage this water infiltration could cause to their home and reached out to us, identifying a need for professional waterproofing services. Upon arrival, the System Design Specialist from our team conducted a thorough examination of the garage issues. Discovering the primary points of water entry, the specialist recommended an effective, tailored solution to address and permanently resolve the homeowner's problem. Our recommendation included the installation of WaterGuard, a specially designed interior perimeter drainage system that sits atop the footing of the foundation to capture wall and floor seepage before it reaches the basement floor. Alongside WaterGuard, we suggested implementing SuperSump, a premier sump pump system equipped to efficiently evacuate water captured by WaterGuard. And to complement these systems, we recommended CleanSpace -- a durable, vapor barrier liner that not only prevents moisture penetration but also transforms the garage's appearance.

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Bel Air, MD

Recently, we had the pleasure of helping a homeowner in Bel Air, MD tackle a concerning issue with their 12 x 20 concrete floor crawlspace. They reached out with the hope of encapsulating the space to thwart further damage and maintain a dry, healthy environment under their home. Our System Design Specialist quickly identified the issues at hand - a wet wall indicative of potential water intrusion and failing insulation due to prolonged moisture exposure. Following our comprehensive diagnostic, we proposed an ideal, long-term solution to the homeowner utilizing CleanSpace and SilverGlo - two of our premier products. CleanSpace is an incredibly durable, moisture-proof lining designed to encapsulate and protect the crawlspace from mold, mildew, and humidity. Partnered with SilverGlo, an insulation product infused with graphite particles to reflect heat and lower energy costs, we were able to address both the moisture and insulation problems in one fell swoop. Our experienced production team took the reins from there. They meticulously cleared the affected area, installed the CleanSpace liner to seal out moisture effectively, and replaced the inadequate insulation with SilverGlo panels, ensuring snug fits around the crawlspace to maximize insulation efficiency.

Finished Basement with Crawlspaces in Bel Air, Maryland

Before we finished this basement we had to deal with some problems first.  This basement had several crawlspaces that that had moisture and no insulation.  We installed CleanSpace barrier on the floor of the crawlspace to prevent vapor transmission.  We also insulated the walls and rim-joist of the crawlspaces but not with fiberglass insulation because that attracts mold and becomes ineffective over time as it absorbs moisture.  Instead we used Silverglow foam board.  We also installed a SaniDry Dehumidifier to keep the humidity at an acceptable low level.

Then we used our TBF Everlast wall panel system to finish the basement and it came out great.  Not only does it look good, it comes with a 50-year guarantee against water damage and mold growth.  We also fixed the stairs and installed Thermal flooring that makes the basement floor look good and creates a warmer floor surface. The basement looked great and is now ready to use.
