This project was for a highly satisfied customer of ours. We had just completed an install of our EverLast Wall System and Ceiling Tiles and the customer requested a free quote for flooring. We sent the original inspector, Joshua Jackson, out to his home to provide some flooring samples and help pick the best flooring system for this basement. Once the final product was chosen, by customer request, we sent foreman Chris Cote, back out to install.
This installation consisted of our Canyon Beige, ThermalDry Tile Flooring. Our ThermalDry flooring is great for basements, it turns the hard, cold concrete into comfortable flooring. The ThermalDry tiles are inorganic, water resistant tiles that have pegs on the bottom to provide air space and a thermal break.
The crawl space in this Lancaster, PA, home was suffering from severe groundwater intrusion, even though it had been encapsulated before. The original barrier was failing, allowing water to seep through and create a damp, unprotected space. This made the crawl space vulnerable to potential mold growth, odors, and structural issues, and the homeowner was understandably concerned.
After a thorough evaluation, we installed our CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System, providing a robust moisture barrier and addressing the groundwater issue head-on. The new encapsulation system not only restored the crawl space to a dry, protected environment but also offered the homeowner peace of mind. Now, his Lancaster, PA, home has a durable solution that will keep the crawl space dry, effectively sealing out moisture and ensuring lasting protection against water intrusion.
This Lititz customer had a semi finished basement that he was looking to install and Egress window in the unfinished portion. This area currently had a window, but the window was not large enough to escape out of in case of an emergency and this same window, did not allow much natural lighting into the basement. We came out and installed an In-Swing Egress with a RockWell. This large In-swing Egress will now brighten up the basement with the amount of natural light it is allowing to come in and, in case of an emergency, this is now a quick, safe and easy exit from the basement.
This basement had a bowing wall, causing cracking and separation of the block. We installed the PowerBrace wall stabilization system to permanently stabilize this home's foundation wall. It comes with a 25-year warranty against further bowing, tipping or shearing. In addition, this system has the ability to be tightened periodically over time, putting reverse pressure on the bowing wall which helps to straighten it. We also installed ThermalWall vapor barrier to keep moisture out and the warm air in.
This customer had a finished basement that had 3 bedrooms, but before these bedrooms could become livable spaces, there needed to be an emergency exit in play. The customer reached out to us to install 3 Egress windows, one in each of the bedrooms. Egress windows are not only good for a quick and safe way to exit the basement in case of an emergency, but these windows also allow in a lot of natural light making the bedroom brighter causing you to use less electric via having the light on during the day.
The customer chose to have 3, Slider Egress Windows with Rockwells and Rockwell Covers installed along with WellDucts that would tie in to the current waterproofing system.
