This customer was noticing water intrusion and cracks throughout the block structure in this below grade garage, concerned with structural issues, they reached out to a structural engineer to assess. Once the structural engineer evaluated the foundation, he recommended that Basement Systems USA come out and install Carbon Armor straps and a drainage system. We sent our inspector Jeff Yentzer out to this property to see the structure in need of repair and to see how many Carbon Armor straps were needed and what type of drainage system would work best with the layout and foundation. Jeff provided an estimate for a Brush coat which is a Cementitious Coating that protects the concrete from sulfate contaminated ground conditions,6 Carbon Armor Straps which are 10times stronger than steel, Waterguard around the perimeter of the garage, a Gravity Drain with Lawnscape and then our Brightwall panels.
This customer had a finished basement and started to notice cracks along the drywall, concerned this could be a major issue, they reached out to us to assess.
When arriving at the property, the drywall had already been removed and you could see a noticeable horizontal crack going through the foundation wall. Our solution for this was our Carbon Armor Wall Stabilization Straps.
The Carbon Armor system is 10x stronger than steel but flexible enough to form tightly against the basement wall. The straps are secured to the floor joist and is ideal for quickly stabilizing bowing walls
The initial call into Basement Systems USA was for basement waterproofing, the complaint was water would get in to the basement every time it would rain and then it would just progress with every rainfall, more and more water was getting in. When we got out there to assess the water issue, it became apparent that there was a problem with the customers foundation. To correct these foundation issues we installed two push piers and seven, 8' Power Braces.
Push Piers are installed and locked under the homes foundation, allowing the weight from the foundation, to transfer from the unstable soil, to the stabilized piers. Power Braces are installed by anchoring to your basement floor and floor joist. The Power Brace is designed to be tightened over time and can potentially reverse the failing wall.
Customer had a few cracks along the basement wall and when it would rain, water would seep in through the cracks. To take care of this we used our pattened product called FlexiSpan. Flexispan is a 2 part system, a crack sealant and a hidden, drainage channel that directs any leaking water to your sump pump. The drainage channel is permanently sealed to the foundation, and if there is any wall movement, the channel will flex with it.
In order to put this property on the market, the customer had to take care of the horizontal crack on the foundation wall. The solution for this foundation repair was our Carbon Armor Wall reinforcement system.
We used 12 Carbon Fiber strips which are made from fiber-reinforced polymer that's 10-times stronger than steel which strengthen and stabilize foundation walls that are bowed or cracked and our ArmorLock system which stops inward wall movement by connecting the CarbonArmor fiber strips to the homes perimeter framing.
